Middle School.
Mixed Media and woodblock print, 9 x 11 inches, December, 2002.

I can't decide if I am done with this one, but I find it so personally amusing that I decided to put it up here. I was at my parents house recently and I found some of my old diaries and letters from middle school. Tucked amidst my crushes and report cards was a list of 100 reasons why Tracy (my best friend) and I hated Alisa (our other best friend). My personal favorites are #46 "Her handwriting" and #91 "She likes the environment."

In my diary at one point I say, "it's like the book Blubber by Judy Blume. Now that a few people hate her, everyone hates her." Basically, ostracizing this poor girl was one of the worst things I probably ever did, and I will be paying for it karmically until the day I die. I sure hope she never finds my webpage, and if this is you reading Alisa, I'm going to hell for middle school, if that's any consolation.

Here's a bigger version, so you can read the text.
