When I was in the Sarah Lawrence mail room I saw a postcard from my hometown in the garbage. On the back it said,

Hi Honey,
Ohmigosh it's so tranquil out here.
I guess there's so much space + sunshine
and of course, all these white people
massed together, pumping out a homogenized (sp?) culture. I don't
know about the long-term effects on a New Yorker!
Guess what! Linnie is becoming
a Buddhist. Her son Alan already is I think we're on to the 'hippist'
thing since bottled water....

I printed the postcard over graduation and prom pictures of my friends from my hometown. The whole thing amused me to no end, even though the print didn't come out the way I had pictured it.
